Amateurs begin Challenge Cup campaign

Amateurs begin Challenge Cup campaign 02/01/2009 12:27pm

Thirty two amateur clubs set off on the road to Wembley this weekend when they do battle in the first round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.

The highlight of Saturday's 15 preliminary-round ties is a Cumbrian derby between Wath Brow Hornets, who reached the fourth round four years ago, and Millom.

Sunday's only match is between West London Sharks and The Army - one of three armed services teams involved in the Cup.
